Nextant 400XTi Overview
The Nextant 400XTi is a light business jet developed by Nextant Aerospace in the United States through a comprehensive remanufacturing programme of the Beechjet 400 airframe. It combines proven aircraft structures with modern upgrades, including Williams FJ44-3AP engines, advanced avionics and a redesigned cabin interior. The aircraft typically accommodates up to seven passengers and offers a range of around 2,000 nautical miles, making it well suited to regional and short transcontinental missions. From a passenger perspective, the 400XTi provides improved efficiency, lower noise levels and a refreshed cabin environment compared with earlier light jets.
Aircraft Features
Range and Performance
The Nextant 400XTi offers a maximum range of approximately 2,003 nautical miles (3,710 km). This allows non-stop flights such as London to Athens or Paris to Moscow, supporting efficient medium-range travel across Europe and neighbouring regions. Its performance combines improved fuel efficiency with reliable cruise capability, enabling passengers to reach key destinations directly with reduced travel time.
Cabin Comfort and Configuration
The Nextant 400XTi cabin typically accommodates six to seven passengers in a single executive zone. The standard layout features four club seats with fold-out tables opposite a three-place divan, allowing passengers to work, dine or relax during flight. A flat-floor cabin, enclosed lavatory and dedicated baggage space add practicality, while improved cabin width and headroom contribute to a comfortable environment for short- to mid-range journeys.
Onboard Amenities
The Nextant 400XTi features a redesigned, flat-floor executive cabin for up to seven passengers, with a refreshment centre or compact galley and a fully enclosed lavatory for added privacy. An advanced cabin-management system controls lighting, temperature and entertainment, while HD media and connectivity support productivity during flight. Enhanced acoustic insulation reduces cabin noise, and practical baggage compartments accommodate luggage for typical business trips.
Technology and Flight Deck
The Nextant 400XTi features the Collins Aerospace Pro Line 21 avionics suite, with four large digital displays that support precise navigation, weather monitoring and system management, improving situational awareness and reducing pilot workload. The aircraft is powered by twin Williams FJ44-3AP turbofan engines with FADEC control, offering improved fuel efficiency, lower noise levels and reliable performance compared with earlier Beechjet-based models.
Nextant 400XTi Certification
The Nextant 400XT programme began with a first test flight in March 2010, based on the remanufactured Beechjet 400A/XP platform. The aircraft received final certification from the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in October 2011, allowing commercial operations and initial deliveries that same month. The enhanced Nextant 400XTi variant was introduced in 2014 with aerodynamic improvements, updated avionics and a refined cabin. These upgrades marked the evolution of the programme while maintaining the certified platform already in operational service.
